OPPORTUNITY

Not that long ago the spectrum of options for molded plastic toys looked bleak.  Inexpensive, cheap construction, made overseas from potentially unsafe materials.  

INSIGHT

Toys should be inspired and have a meaningful story.  They should teach our kids something, not just about play, but about values and beliefs.  Is it possible to design, engineer and manufacture high-quality toys in San Francisco---and all from recycled plastic?

DESIGN STRATEGY

Designed while at LUNAR, Herbst worked with Green Toys to envision a line of safe and engaging baby toys made from recycled milk jugs.  The My First line for Green Toys was anchored by the classic Tugboat bath toy which has since become an iconic signature of the Green Toys brand.
