OPPORTUNITY

Cleaning is a chore. We get that. But does it have to be? Can it feel easier, more engaging, just a little smarter? The category leader asked us to help create an innovative, easy to use system that to help increase profitability by lightweighting the shipping and distribution of their signature household cleaners while decreasing reliance on single use plastic bottles. We jumped at this win-win opportunity.

INSIGHT

As a global leader with huge production volumes and supply-chain and retail logistics there is real scale complexity to the launch of a new Clorox platform. From the onset It was imperitive that our design team work in close collaboration with the multi-faceted marketing, chemistry and production teams at Clorox to help develop a concentrate delivery ‘pod’ that utilizes as little plastic as possible, is made from post-consumer recycled plastic and is safe and easy to use with no exposure or spilling of the concentrate during the refill process.

DESIGN STRATEGY

As we were refreshing the iconic Clorox cleaning experience, we wanted to leverage this initiative to signal a progressive new approach by modernizing the classic Clorox spray bottle. We needed to derive a fresh, brand-driven shape that would help usher in a new, progressive and timeless era for this confident and trusted brand. The iconic CLX spray bottle has been reborn! With a distinctive ‘faceted’ angular language to emphasize the brand equity of the Clorox diamond logo.
